School Life

Reflections on Our First Months @ Hayden            December 2013

It is amazing how much can change in a few months; and also how much can stay the same. Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School has only been open for a few months, and in those months, many changes have occurred. For one thing, the school is now populated! We have students, and teachers, and other staff members, exploring the school and being among the first to do so.

The school is not only filled with people, but also with positive energy and a true sense of community. From our football team’s big championship victory, to the Winter Wonderland semi formal, there have already been moments and events that have helped to build the feeling of unity, and create a community of Huskies.

With a strong sense of community comes traditions. We are the first students to learn in this school, and we are the ones who bear the responsibility of determining the direction of the school. It may sound daunting, but it is actually a task that myself and the students of Hayden have been eager to take on!

In spite of all of the things that have changed since the opening of the school, one thing has not; the feeling of excitement. So many amazing things have already happened, and I know that there will be many more Husky moments to come!
